Short answer: Writesonic’s paid plans start at $79 per month when billed annually, then $199 and $399 for the two higher self-serve tiers. Enterprise is custom. The plans now bundle AI search visibility tracking with article writing, so you are paying for more than a text generator.

What each plan is for

Starter ($79/mo) fits one person publishing a few articles a month who also wants to see whether AI tools mention their brand. It has one user and one project, and the agentic workflows are limited to 10 trial runs.

Basic ($199/mo) doubles the tracking and adds a second user, with room for up to three more at $50 per user per month. It suits a small team working on one site, because it still has only one project.

Growth ($399/mo) is marked “Most popular”. It adds sentiment analysis, a small monthly allowance of on-page and off-page actions, three users (up to two more at $50 per user per month) and two projects. It is the first tier that looks built for an agency or an in-house content team.

Enterprise adds all nine AI platforms, SSO and compliance features. Pricing is by quote.

What it really costs per article

If you mainly want articles, divide the price by the monthly article allowance (annual billing):

Plan Price Articles Cost per article
Starter $79 15 about $5.27
Basic $199 25 about $7.96
Growth $399 50 about $7.98

Two things to keep in mind. First, this ignores the tracking, audits and workflows you also get, so it overstates the cost if you use those. Second, going from Starter to Basic raises the cost per article, so the upgrade only pays off if you need the extra tracking, users or audits.

Free trial and refunds

Writesonic advertises a free start with no credit card. The pricing page does not state how long the trial lasts. Its pricing-page FAQ offers a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund, and downgrades or cancellations take effect at the next billing cycle. Check the current terms before you commit.

Who should skip Writesonic

  • You only need article optimization against top-ranking pages. Tools built for that, such as Surfer SEO, NeuronWriter or Frase, may fit better.
  • You need many projects. Even Growth includes only two.
  • You want a flat monthly price with no commitment. The headline prices assume annual billing.

Pricing history note

Writesonic changes its plans often. Its own help documentation, last updated in March 2026, still describes Basic at 100 articles per month and a Growth plan with 200, while the live pricing page now lists 25 and 50. The help page also lists different project and user limits for Basic and Growth than the live page does. Always trust the live page over older reviews, including ours after the date at the top.

Bottom line

Writesonic is a reasonable pick if you want content writing and AI search visibility tracking in one subscription and can commit annually. If you only want a writing assistant, compare it with the alternatives before paying $199 or more.
